Argumentation and Teaching Mathematics

The book Argumentation and Mathematics Teaching is intended for teachers students and scholars of mathematics education. It is the product of several years of reflection and concern with mathematics teaching at various levels where the authors have worked as teachers or participants in continuing education programs for teachers. The reflections presented here cover aspects of the anthropological theory of teaching argumentation and its social function in education types of reasoning and a discussion of proofs and demonstrations.
