Through this book the author is giving details of two important antimalarial compounds obtained from plants namely Quinine from Cinchona and Artemisinin from Artemisia annua. Their chemical structure botany of the source plants their cultivation and biotechnological studies done on the source plants to increase the production of these compounds are discussed. The author has done research on artemisinin which was on the effect of sterol inhibitors on artemisinin production in a cell free system from plants and tissue cultures of Artemisia annua.
