ASD/AUTISM

About The Book

In this book we will discuss the autism spectrum disorder/ASD its respective interventions and other specific characteristics of ICD 11 6A02 and DSM 5/299.00. ASD/Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder that has five (5) diagnostic criteria and among them social communication is very impaired. In addition to this deficit repetitive and ritualized behaviors as well as fixed and perseverative interests are markedly prominent. Impairments in reaching expected milestones with reference to peers and mastery are clinically observed. Autism spectrum disorder (DSM 5/299.00 and ICD 11/6A02) is characterized by persistent deficits in social communication and social interaction in multiple contexts including deficits in social reciprocity in nonverbal communication behaviors used for social interaction and in skills in developing maintaining and understanding relationships. Other weaknesses are related to communicative behaviors motor movements and comorbid factors.
