About The Book

In Sanatana dharma our way of life lifestyle and experiences of our forefathers who lived with very high spiritual consciousness and gained real knowledge about ourselves thousands of years ago were transferred to their disciples in two ways - as advices - called Boda and as dialogues - called Gita . Gita is a dialogue between the Guru and the qualified student. The universally well known is the Bhagwad Gita a dialogue between Lord Krishna and Arjuna.

Ashta Vakara means eight different crooked (curved) shapes. The young sage had eight eight different crooked (curved) shapes in his body (specially abled) and hence was called Ashta Vakra Sage. King Janaka who ruled Mithila was a very learned person. He ruled Mithila by following Sanatan Dharma.

Ashtavakra Gita is a dialogue between the king and his Guru Sage Ashtavakra. The dialogue covered advanced advaita vedanta principles and practices. Their conversation is our education. The dialogue consists of twenty chapters and 298 Sanskrit slokas (verses). This Gita powerfully expresses the non-dualistic (Advaita) philosophy of knowing and realising who you are and in that process helps one in cutting off the shackles and barriers to such realization.

Blessed are those who venture into the study of Ashtavakra Gita.
