Assessing Determinants of population fertility in Hosanna town

About The Book

In the early time of development when the society engaged in simple agricultural activities the number of world population was very low. It was estimated to be around 250 million .The world population at the dawn of Industrial revolution i.e. was about 0.5 billion. It however expanded in the 18th c after the industrial revolution. A series of dramatic technological change & the expansion of health care services accelerated population growth. The fast growth rate of population was a cause of concern for the world. Many developed countries were quick to respond. The developing countries are gradually trying to check this rapid growth. However there has been still a steady population growth rate which cloud not perhaps match with the available resources and the level of development. This in turn causes for the occurrence of different socioeconomic problems. So this study tries to assess those variables that are responsible for the occurrence of high population number & growth in the study area. It was conducted in one of the developing countries Ethiopia. In general it gives relevant information for local policy makers & serves as a spring board for further research work.
