Assessing Level of Suitability for Updating Topomaps using ASTER/SRTM

The innovation in this study is quite an eye opener; it is the first time a simultaneous assessment of the vertical accuracy of ASTER and SRTM are carried out for the study area revealing their level of accuracy for Geomatics work. The study went further to bring out the degree of relationship between the EGM96 geoid model and the local datum of the study area in terms of geoid undulation. This research for our study area has never been treated elsewhere except in China University of Geosciences through this work.
