Association of fetal outcome with maternal BMI

Obesity is becoming a critical public health issue day by day. So it is assumed that BMI creates impact in perinatal outcome.The topic of the book is bout Association of Fetal Outcome with Maternal BMI It is a cross sectional observational study on 400 mothers.who were chosen by purposive sampling. The study populations were classified into four groups according to BMI. Group-I stands for 100 mothers who are underweight Group-II consist of 100 mothers who are normal weight Group III stands for 100 mothers who are overweight and Group IV stands for 100 mothers who are obese. Data regarding socio demographic clinical obstetrical and fetomaternal outcome were recorded then the data were edited managed and analyzed. The observations were plotted into tabular and figure form. The categorical variable was analyzed by chi square test and the quantitative variables were analyzed by unpaired student’s t test. At all level 95% confidence interval & level of significance was p <0.05. The statistical analysis were done by SPSS version 23. Regarding meconium staining there is clean cut association with higher maternal BMI whereas NICU admission were more required in overweight mothers.Obesity is becoming a critical public health issue day by day.
