ASTHMA IN PEDIATRICS

This text takes a comprehensive approach to childhood asthma a chronic respiratory disease characterized by inflammation and reversible airway obstruction which mainly affects children and adolescents. Its causes are explored highlighting the influence of genetic and environmental factors as well as the interaction between both that can modify the risk of development and severity of asthma. In addition the epidemiology of childhood asthma is analyzed pointing out its significant increase in recent decades especially in urban areas and developed countries where pollution and passive smoking contribute to its prevalence. This analysis also highlights regional differences and challenges in diagnosis and treatment providing a solid foundation for professionals and students interested in pediatric health and asthma management.
