Gerardus Cremonensis also known as Gerard of Cremona (c. 1114–1187) was a medieval Italian scholar and translator. He is known for his translations of numerous Arabic scientific and philosophical works into Latin during the medieval period particularly from the works of Islamic scholars such as Avicenna (Ibn Sina) and Alkindus (Al-Kindi). Geomancy is a form of divination that involves interpreting patterns created by tossing or marking a set of objects often pebbles or sand and has historically been associated with astrology and the occult.
