Atmospheric Particulate Loading at Receptor classes of Lagos Mega-city

Lagos mega-city used to be the capital of the federal republic of Nigeria. The city with a human population of about 12 million remains the economic capital of Nigeria. As with similar cities of the world air quality issues has remained a major problem faced by residents of the mega-city. This book assesses quantifies characterises and apportions atmospheric particulate in the airshed of major receptor site-classes (residential industrial marine and heavy traffic) of the city. A 9-month sampling campaign was undertaking to collect adequate number of samples (particulate matter) for the analysis. The characterization of the samples was carried out at the Portuguese Reactor facility in Portugal using the Ko-INAA method while source apportionment of aerosol loadings in the city was done using Positive Matrix Factorization (PMF).
