Attention Deficit Hyper Activity Disorder in Children

Attention deficit hyperactivity is a neurodevelopmental disorder affecting 5.29%of children on the world. The disorder is characterized by 1)inattention 2)motor over activity and 3)poor impulse control. Neonatal problemshistory of mental illness drug use and smoking are some of the factors associated with ADHD. It produces impairment in social academicpersonal and occupational functioning.ADHD is more common among boys than females and the disorder manifest early before the child gets in school. Most health professionals neglect the problem and fail to screen the child and to teach family.
