Attitudes and Languages

<p>The book aims to establish the concept of attitudes as more central to the study of minority and majority languages. The strong tradition of attitude theory and research from social psychology is made relevant to language restoration and decay. Original research shows how attitude to bilingualism is conceptually distinct from attitude to a specific language. A piece of research in Wales investigates the origins of language attitudes in individual differences and in environmental attributes.</p>
