Ayiti Cheri

<p>Haïti Chérie (Beloved Haiti) is a traditional patriotic song of Haiti which was based on a poem written by Othello Bayard. It was initially called Souvenir d'Haïti (Memory of Haiti) and was composed to music in 1925. It is widely considered as a second national anthem and one of Haiti's most famous méringues.</p><p><br></p><p>The extract of the song presented in this book was translated by the publisher to reflect the meaning behind the words in the spirit of bilingualism.</p>
