Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar (14 April 1891 – 6 December 1956) was an Indian economist jurist social reformer and political leader. He chaired the committee that drafted the Indian Constitution and served as the Minister of Law and Justice in Nehru's cabinet. A prominent advocate for Dalits he later converted to Buddhism inspiring the Dalit Buddhist movement.
