Bacterial Pathogen and Their Antimicrobial Susceptibility

About The Book

Different bacteria were isolated during the study including E. coli Pseudomonas spp. Citrobacter spp. Enterobacter spp. Morganella spp. Proteus spp. Providencia Staph. aureus and Staph. epidermidis. Then check the susceptibility of these bacteria against different antibiotic like Augmentin (a combination of Amoxicillin and Clavulanic Acid) Amoxil (Amoxicillin) Velocef (Cephradine) Cefizix (Ceftizoxime Sodium) Ciproxin (Ciprofloxacin) Erythrocin (Erythromycin) Meronem (Meropenem) Gentacin (Gentamycin) Vibramycin (Doxycycline) Vancocin (Vancomycin) Septran (a combination of Trimethoprim and Sulphamethoxazole) Sulzone (a combination of Cefoprazone and Sulbactam)and Tazocin (a combination of Piperacillin and Tazobactam). The studies showed that Meronem is the most effective drug against E. coli having 65.78% activity however E. coli showed 97.36% resistance against Erythrocin. The most effective drug against Pseudomonas spp. was Gentacin which was 83.33% sensitive and Pseudomonas spp. showed 91.66% resistance against Augmentin Erythrocin and Vancocin. Citrobacter spp. showed 100% resistance against Vancocin. The most effective drug among there was Vibramycin 63.63%.
