BANANA GROWING IN THE STATE OF TOCANTINS

Banana growing an activity of great global importance is also an exponent in the state of Tocantins with a major socio-economic impact on the state since in addition to being one of the food bases it also generates income and employment ensuring that people stay in the countryside especially on small properties. However despite the aforementioned growth banana growing still has some obstacles such as post-harvest losses inefficient transportation fluctuating marketing prices and few destinations for production. Another point to note is the small number of studies on the crop in the state but these are expected to increase due to the growing importance of the crop for Tocantins.
