From Iit-Kharagpur And Ph.D From University Of Sheffield Uk. Initially He Worked As A Geologist In Orissa Mining Corporation Ltd And Later As A Scientist In Regional Research Laboratory At Bhubaneswar And Finally Served As A Professor In Iit-Bombay And Headed The Department Of Earth Sciences In The Institute. He Can Be Considered To Have Started Environmental Geology In India As Early As 1970 And Worked On Heavy Metal Pollution Around Mining And Mineral Belts Urban And Industrial Zones River Courses And Waste Disposal Sites Like Ash And Tailing Dams Of Coal Fired Thermal Plants. His Principal Mode Of Investigation Was Through National And International Projects And Academic Programme Of Iit Bombay. He Is A Fellow Of Several Learned Societies And During His Active Career Was Associated With Many Academic And R&D Institutions Administrative And Regulatory Bodies In India. Presently He Lives A Retired Life In Mumbai.
