This book explores a relatively unknown area regarding the status of technology integration in private schools in Puerto Rico. This study in­vestigated personal practices of teachers related to information tech­nology professional use of technology within the classroom curricu­lum and teacher beliefs regarding instructional technology usage. Possible barriers regarding the integration of computers in the curricu­lum were also studied. Models of professional development are also explored. In addition to contributing to the body of knowledge about independent schools in Puerto Rico teachers technology coordina­tors and teacher educators will find the book useful in understanding why technology integration may not be working in many schools and how to overcome barriers.
