This book explores a relatively unknown area regarding the status of technology integration in private schools in Puerto Rico. This study investigated personal practices of teachers related to information technology professional use of technology within the classroom curriculum and teacher beliefs regarding instructional technology usage. Possible barriers regarding the integration of computers in the curriculum were also studied. Models of professional development are also explored. In addition to contributing to the body of knowledge about independent schools in Puerto Rico teachers technology coordinators and teacher educators will find the book useful in understanding why technology integration may not be working in many schools and how to overcome barriers.
