The researcher has always questioned why people's aspirations are not being fulfilled leading thousands of people to a constant coming and going unable to establish ties and contribute significantly to local development. This phenomenon has also been observed in settlements proposed by various movements and government institutions since 2000 when the researcher joined a religious group formed by the Franciscan Catechist Sisters of the Province of Santa Teresa do Menino Jesus. This group carried out voluntary work to support settlers from the Landless Workers' Movement (MST) in the interior of Mato Grosso. To understand the process of emptying the plots study and debate groups were organized in various local segments. Participation in the Graduate Program in Local Development - Academic Master's Degree under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Marney P. Cereda emerged as an opportunity to continue the research in a more systematic way. Today the researcher is a doctoral student in the Graduate Program in Environmental Sciences and Agricultural Sustainability searching for alternative proposals for family agricultural sustainability.
