Basic Statistical Thermodynamics is a textbook suitable for senior undergraduate students and can be used also by postgraduate students in universities. This book is a culmination of over three decades of teaching at the University of Nairobi. The approach in the text is geared towards ensuring that the student can use the book for self study. This has been achieved by showing in detail in a step wise manner the derivation of the concepts and principles of statistical thermodynamics.
