Although the soil quality concept is relatively well established and accepted it is difficult to define and measure the parameters that may reflect the condition of soil. The concept of soil quality recently emphasizes on the capacity of soil to support biological productivity while maintain environmental quality and promote plant and animal health. However the certain soil properties that support crop production are the same that support the environmental services that provided by soil.
