Bealby; A Holiday

The story follows Bealby a young boy who is sent by his stepfather to work as a servant at Shonts a grand country house. Bealby however has no interest in a life of servitude. After a series of accidents and misunderstandings on his very first day Bealby decides to run away from the estate determined to escape his job and the oppressive expectations placed upon him. What follows is a series of comic episodes as Bealby embarks on a holiday of sorts trying to evade capture while crossing paths with a variety of eccentric characters. He gets involved in a political campaign is chased by angry officials and finds himself in increasingly absurd situations. Despite his best efforts trouble seems to follow him wherever he goes.
