Because of Them

<p>Lexi Connors-Nettleman has led a charmed life. Her father died when Lexi was only two years old leaving her and her mother a hefty insurance policy. Sadly Lexi's mother blew through the money in a matter of months and with no employable skills she did the next best thing: she married money.</p><p>Marion Connors married Archibald (Archie) Nettleman when Lexi was three years old. Archie was thirty years older than her mother and though he raised Lexi as his own as she got older people they didn't know often mistook him for her grandfather instead of her daddy. That's right Archie legally adopted Lexi when she reached the tender age of seven. </p><p>Life for the Nettlemans was comfortable and privileged. When Lexi was fourteen she was sent away to an exclusive girls boarding school in Switzerland. At eighteen she graduated and anxiously flew back home to be with her parents in Naples Florida. </p><p>But when she arrived back at the sprawling mansion near the beach she received the shock of her life. I was born into poverty in Prospect Alabama. </p><p>When I was just two years-old my birth mother gave me up for adoption. I spent five years going to foster home after foster home until finally when I was eight years old I was adopted by a wonderful family who lived in a very prestigious home in Mobile Alabama. </p><p>Everything was picture perfect until I turned nineteen and while away at University of Alabama I received word that my mother had been killed in an automobile accident. My father was in serious condition so I immediately left school to go home to deal with Mama's funeral and help Daddy get back on his feet. My life was turned upside down with the loss of Mama but it really got sticky in trying to deal with my dad..
