Becoming an Author

<p class=ql-align-justify><span style=background-color: rgba(0 0 0 0); color: rgba(0 0 0 1)>Bud's writing career began shortly after he retired from the Navy in 1975. During his military tenure as a Navy Hospital Corpsman he traveled the world practicing his medical skills as a Physician's Assistant aboard ship. While on shore duty at various Naval Hospitals he was trained as a Radiographer (X-Ray Technologist) and achieved sufficient rank to serve as a department manager.</span></p><p class=ql-align-justify></p><p class=ql-align-justify><span style=background-color: rgba(0 0 0 0); color: rgba(0 0 0 1)>After retiring from the Navy Bud worked in civilian hospitals in Cincinnati and Dayton Ohio where he served as a department director. While at Grandview Hospital in Dayton he began writing a monthly column for Advance Magazine based in Valley Forge Pennsylvania. His articles were often based on topics he had presented at annual meetings and conventions.</span></p><p class=ql-align-justify></p><p class=ql-align-justify><span style=background-color: rgba(0 0 0 0); color: rgba(0 0 0 1)>Bud was later recruited by Sinclair Community College where he served as an instructor for twenty-two years. During this time he was also invited by McGraw Hill Publishers to assist in editing and writing medical textbooks including Basic Medical Terminology which was used at Sinclair College.</span></p><p class=ql-align-justify></p><p class=ql-align-justify><span style=background-color: rgba(0 0 0 0); color: rgba(0 0 0 1)>At Sinclair Bud taught courses in Basic Medical Terminology Advanced Medical Terminology and Introduction to Computers.
