This book balances biblical content with practical application about the what why and how of spiritual formation. It is an excellent source for individuals small groups and entire congregations to study and apply in order to bridge the gap between numerical growth and spiritual immaturity among many members. It goes beyond most books on spiritual formation by beginning with the nature of the Triune God who has always existed in community moves to the nature of humanity created in His image and likeness and how individuals can mature to functionally relate as God does. Three appendixes include relevant pondering questions for each chapter an eleven-week program for spiritual formation and a comprehensive assessment tool for measuring progress. It is biblical practical understandable and usable. At one time Knofel Staton was a senior air traffic controller at OHare airport where he wrote the first training manual for new controllers. He holds two doctorate degrees one of which is in Spiritual Formation under Richard Foster. He has published over 30 books chapters in five others and over 200 articles; has served as president of a Christian college and is currently professor of Biblical Literature and Theology at Hope International University. He enjoys communicating Gods Word in the classroom with speaking engagements and through his writing. He also enjoys riding his motorcycle. Cathryn Comeaux holds three degrees from two colleges and the University of Minnesota. She is a holistic student of the Bible and a deep theological thinker balanced with keen practicality for todays culture. She is an occupational therapist at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota and a lay leader in the church. She enjoys riding her horse clicking the camera and playing volleyball.
