Before Spain

<p>What are the odds of meeting your future life companion in a dirty swimming pool just outside of Oxford on Midsummer Night in 1975?</p><p>A hundred to one or a thousand to one? </p><p>Not being a gambling man I have no idea at all. Wasting money on a lottery ticket is as close as I have ever been to impossible odds. But on that night as the bonfires were burning and the singing and dancing continued around us having cleaned the dirty water of my body dried and dressed again I knew I had won the first prize.</p>
