Begging the Question

With their seeking out of common ground between strangers mothers and daughters friends and lovers Jane Williamss poems are full of warmth and delight in being alive. Bullies funerals and business as usual exist here but so too does the possibility of being surprised by joy. The language is beautifully sparse and understated hitting home with sudden images which are startling and powerful. Begging the Question is a book to keep by the bed and read again and again.
