Begin Again

A man arrives from nowhere in a village by an estuary. Spreading his arms he tells people that the world is good and that they can make it better. He argues with priests fights with madmen drinks with gamblers. He draws crowds and tells stories. Strange and joyful things happen around him. Who is he and why is he here? What battle is he fighting? What is he asking of us or offering to us? What does it mean to begin again? Begin Again takes the story told in the Gospel of Mark and places it in an unfamiliar language and an unfamiliar setting asking us to encounter it as something read for the first time today in an armchair or on a bus. It is a powerful story - by turns funny moving horrifying - and everyone should read it once.
