As A Child Simone Grew Up In A Foster Home In Little Rock Arkansas Being The Youngest Child Of Five She Was Placed In The Custody Of Her Adopted Parents Who Was Haitian And She Was African American She Was Treated Differently From The Other Children Who Was Born To Catherine And Greg And Not Because She Didn'T Come From The Same Background But Because She Was Part Of The System And Kids Who Are In The System Are Often Over Looked By Those Who Have No Reason To Care For A Child Who Doesn'T Belong. As A Baby Simone Was Taking Away From Her Biological Mother Who Was On Drugs So The State Declared Her An UnfitAs She Got Older She Began To Wonder What It Would Have Been Like To Be With Her Real Mother If She Wasn'T With The People She Had To Pretend She Liked And LovedShe Experienced Physical And Mental Abuse By Her Foster Father And Sister And Sexual Abuse From Her Brothers She Hated Herself And The Things She Went Through She Would Often Pray For God To Make Her Pain Go Away And Bring Her Home To Her Real Mother That She Would Dream About Even Though She Knew It Was Impossible She Cried Every Night As She Would Hear The Cries Of Her Foster Mother Who Was Also Abused By Her Husband When Ever He Had A Bad Day Or A Drink Simone Was Afraid Of Her So Called Family Because So Much Was Happening And She Knew That One Day She Would Probably Die Even Though That'S Something She Would Find Herself Praying For Often Simone Was Abused Her Whole Life At The Age Of Three While In A Different Foster Home She Was Subjected To Third Degree Burns While Taking A BathThese Scars Made Her Feel Insecure And Ugly Something That Bothered Her Through Out Her Life But Nothing Compared To The Scars That Life Would Put On Her As She Grew Older At The Age Of Six Simone Was Rescued From The Life She Desperately Get Away From And Was Brought Home To BostonMa To Live With Her Real Mother And She Found Out That She Was The Middle Child Of Seven She Was Happy To Know That She Had Older Brother And Sisters Who Would Protect Her And She Was More Excited To Be A Big Sister She Enjoyed Her Better Life She Now Lived And She Was Finally Happy And She Wanted It To Last Forever. But Things Began To Go Left When The Mothers Husband Began To Sneak Into Her Room At Night And Issues She Thought She Escaped Became A Problem In Her Life All Over Again She Didn'T Know What To Do She Knew If She Told That They Would Take Her Away And She Didn'T Want Her Mom To Hate Her So She Kept It To Her Self As Long As She Could Until She Started To Go Through The Same Issues With Her Oldest Brothers Simone Knew Then That She Was Alone Once Again And The Secrets She Had To Keep Became To Much For Her When She Finally Told A Family Member What Her Father Did To Her She Became The Enemy Of Her Mother Who Began To Hate Her For Ruining The Life She Had With Her Husband Simone Never Understood Why Her Mother Didn'T Believe Her Or Even Began To Hate Her She Would Cry Oftern Because She Never Wanted Any Of This To Happen And Now The Mother She Used To Cry For And Pray To Be In Her Life Was Now Someone She Couldn'T Stand To Be Around The Love She Had For Her Mother Slowly Faded As Her Mother Tried Everything She Could To Break Her
