Being the Organic Self

We can't buy our organic self in a store; it's a way of being that only you and I can develop from within ourselves. What is organic develops according to its own nature so that its processes of authenticity and interaction remain unhindered. Anything done for it is only to further its self-actualization. These qualities apply to our own organic self the one we're all born with. This self's characteristics of energy creativity resilience and joy for life are clearly seen in children. That is: before life experiences and socialization moves them away from this aspect of themselves. Unless we make it our goal to develop it this our truest self becomes dormant and fades into the background. In the forefront appear the interests of those around us: family school government culture-many of which objectify and label us; they can even make us ill. (From the Introduction)
