BELARUSIAN MEDIEVAL STUDIES

The monograph raises the question of the birth of medievism a branch of historical science that studies the Middle Ages in the Belarusian lands which were part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The texts in the Old Belarusian language are examined: an extract from the Chronicle by Martin Bielski translations of The Vision of Tnugdal Roman Deeds the novel Tristan and Isolde the recorded in Polish Chronicle of Pantsyrny and Averka teaching of general history (including history of Middle Ages) in Jesuit colleges and schools of the edu-cation commission.
