<p>At fourteen years old Karen Oliver's son Ben was diagnosed with Friedreich's Ataxia a rare genetic disorder affecting coordination and mobility and causes the development of cardiomyopathy and associated arrythmias. She was told he would be wheelchair bound by seventeen and live no longer than thirty-four. But Ben was not going to let that stop him.</p><p>Ben's Story details his incredible life through the eyes of his mother. How his adventurous spirit led him to university teaching traveling all over the country and beyond jumping from planes and so much more. He defied the odds by living fifteen years longer than anyone ever expected and lived every moment with gusto and passion. Oliver is a registered nurse with a background in long-term care and rehab working with the elderly and disabled. Her great passion in life is to fight for wheelchair users' rights. </p><p>She is a Christian and in her free time enjoys working in her garden.</p>
