Better

<p>Hi. I'm Cissy. I wrote <em>Better</em> as a companion book to my sophomore book of poetry <em>Tethered: A Collection of Poems About Love Fixation and Identity</em>.</p><p>The concept of <em>Better</em> was born of demanding better for yourself and your life... setting boundaries and holding firm in them... even when it hurts.</p><p>I'd envisioned <em>Better</em> as a book that would end romantically... but it didn't. It ended after a few weeks of continued social trauma in which I just realized... I can't bear the burdens of other people anymore. I have one life so I'm going to live it... to the best of my ability. I deserve better than my past.</p><p></p>
