<p>Harris a young Asian American travels to Bangkok for his first professional job but is kidnapped sold to a warlord and forced to work in a scam labor camp. Stripped of his identity he becomes Ricco R. Smith. Ricco forms a bond with Irene a retired schoolteacher living in Chicago publishing her first book and whom Ricco is scamming. With the help of her friends Betty and Stella Irene begins investigating Ricco's emails leading them to unforgettable journeys in London and Thailand.</p><p></p><p>Stella's military friends Gaffer Dog and Edge plan an intense operation to rescue Ricco and his close friend Maya. However their plans change quickly bringing the escape to the day of a horrific monsoon storm in Southern Thailand and the Andaman Sea. As the storm rages and the waters rise will the rescue team survive the turbulent sea? Will Ricco and Maya find freedom? And will Irene find the closure she desperately seeks?</p>
