Beyond the Interface

In the early days of computing user interface design was a rudimentary field. Interfaces were often text-based requiring users to interact with computers through command-line prompts and basic graphical elements. These early systems were primarily designed by engineers for engineers with little consideration for the average user's experience. The focus was on functionality and technical capability rather than ease of use or aesthetic appeal.
