BILLY BUNTER AFLOAT

To the utter amazement of the Famous Five of Greyfriars Bunter put his head round the door of No. 1 Study in the Remove and invited them to join him in a tremendous spread. The hamper said Bunter was downstairs but it was too heavy for him to move. The said hamper was quickly transported and Harry Wharton and Co. were soon amid as glorious a feast as had ever brought joy to the Remove; no one realized until too late that a hamper like this was of the lavish kind that only Coker of the Fifth ever enjoyed. For Coker was blessed with a loving aunt who understood the requirements of a man in his prime. Indeed Coker's aunt had also organized a well-equipped boat for him and his pals to take over at Staines for a few weeks' quiet cruise up the river during the hols. But Bunter during the course of certain chastisement meted out by Coker on account of the stolen hamper came into possession of a letter to Coker authorizing the collection of this well-stocked boat and Bunter naturally felt impelled to invite the Famous Five to a holiday cruise. His boating party on the Thames however turned into a somewhat hectic adventure as Coker and his Fifth Form pals tried to recover the Nautilus for their own use.
