BIM interface for structural analysis

During the past years not only drawing and modeling did change but also the whole concept of modeling technology. Thousands of companies around the world started to adopt the concept of BIM (building information modelling) in their projects. Revit which is one of the most famous BIM programs is widely spread nowadays and many projects are being modelled by Revit. At the chair of static and dynamic in Bochum University Bochum Germany Kratos which is a FEM (finite element method) software is being used for designing and analyzing. Kratos has some difficulties with importing files directly from Revit in this thesis the compatibility between these two-different software Revit and Kratos will be checked in order to reduce wasted time caused by repetition and as a consequence reduce wasted money.
