Biopriming

Plants frequently interact with various environmental factors during their life time. These environmental factors may sometimes become harsher to plants and act as stress factor which negatively influence to plant growth and reproduction. Among the major abiotic stresses viz. drought flood extreme heat or cold high salinity or light nutrient deficiency etc. drought stress is chief factor that can control the yield of several economically important crops. Drought stress cause in many physiological and biochemical changes and result in crop loss. Thus act as major food limiting factor of growing population. Recently scientist develops a method called “ priming’ which can neutralize all the negative sides of all the present methods. In this plants improve tolerance potential trough a pre-exposure to a priming agent and which will increase the ability of the plant to withstand a subsequent harsher stress. This concept was the major motive force of present work with the major objective of analyzing the potential of PSB association in enhancing the abiotic stress tolerance of okra.
