Bioremediation of Textile Industry Effluent Contaminated Soil
English

About The Book

Polluted soil pose a severe problem for both ecosystem health and land development and are a genuine hurdle in the sustainable development of the humanity. Because soil lies at the confluence of many natural systems soil pollution can be spread to other parts of the natural environment. Groundwater for instance percolates through the soil and can carry the soil pollutants into streams rivers wells and drinking water. Hence in view of the challenges pertaining to the soil contamination (especially the textile waste water related contamination) the results obtained in this study confirm the beneficial role of the phytoremediation strategy especially by using the locally available herbaceous plant species for cleaning the contaminated site.
