Birdie

Birdie is based on Donella's play Catch the Calling Leaves two army wives both married to men serving in the same regiment are on an Eco retreat where they become unwittingly involved in a nuclear campaign. Josie Miller late 30's a part-time GreenPeace activist and wannabe Earth Mother is desperate to have a baby. Suzy Taylor late 30's from East London has no idea how to cook let alone build a camp fire. They are the outcasts amongst the other army wives on the barracks. This is the first in the series of 6 short-plays that follow Suzy & Josie's comical journey of unwanted enlightenment & their route to female empowerment. Two woman bestfriend's doing the best they can with what they have.
