Birds of North Queensland

<p>I would like to invite you to embark on a captivating journey through the diverse and enchanting world of more than a hundred of the bird species in North Queensland.</p><p></p><p>Covering more than 411000 square kilometers North Queensland's land area is about the size of Sweden.</p><p></p><p>The region's diverse birdlife thrives in seven distinct bioregions. These include beaches and mudflats cool-temperate forests on the highest slopes of the Great Dividing Range lowland semi-evergreen vine thickets open woodlands and the inland arid zone.</p><p></p><p>In an interview with the BBC David Attenborough once famously picked the North of Queensland as the top of the list of the most extraordinary places he had visited. Based on the rich birdlife alone it is easy to agree with that statement.</p><p></p><p>This coffee table book is more than a collection of photographs; it is a celebration of the diversity and beauty of nature of this part of the world. In addition to the photographs I have added some facts and comments which you will hopefully find interesting.</p><p></p><p>Except where indicated all photographs are my own.</p>
