Was your dog sleeping in his doghouse while you were at work all day? Just maybe he was touring the entire neighborhood with the meter reader giving chase. You never really know what your dog is up to when he is home alone. But Janis Aumack does. Janis worked for almost three decades visiting homes to read and service electric meters. Share in her dilemma and delight as one day she is sexually molested and nearly strangled by an incredible hulk of a dog and the next day she is tossing a tennis ball to an eager Golden Retriever. An emotionless stranger finds Janis bare-bottomed and squatting in what she thinks is a secluded lane in a desolate area where no restrooms are available. Janis also meets the love of her life on the job though he is homeless and sickly and undeniably feline. And there is a stray cat in town who believes she kidnapped him just to torture him. Janis is taste-tested one afternoon by a hungry and curious emu. A filthy fish tank in the yard of an abandoned house begins an anxiety-filled rescue mission. One morningan irate customer stalks Janis for miles and on another occasion she is numb with fear as she finds herself in the midst of what appears to be a car-jacking. Yes she is bitten by dogs. But she has empathy for a biting dog since she%u2019d like to bite a few humans herself.
