A Harrowing Escape to Freedom Its a new world after the war has ended and Helmut decides its time for he and his wife Helga to get out from under the dark demands of the communist party to seek what freedom they can on the other side of the wall. On a dark night Helmut and Helga finally summon up their courage to leave East Germany to begin a new life a life without fear After their harrowing escape the couple begins their new life. But Helmut knows theres more to freedom than just being in a new city. In a flash he decides to enter into the world of venetian blinds. Together Helmut and his wife build their new business and they are grateful for the opportunity their new life has afforded them. But their arrival onto the venetian blind scene has not gone unnoticed by their competitors. Suddenly the night he crossed over to West Germany seems like a walk in the park compared to the fierce competitiveness of his new profession. Most of us never give a second thought to our window coverings but theres so much more than meets the eye. Take a peak between the slats and follow Helmut and Helga as they work to survive in a world dominated by money greed and struggle against a force more determined than they could have ever imagined.
