Hasrat Suharwardy has played a unique role in introducing Tamil literature to the Urdu world. He is largely influenced by the progressive movement. He has both imagination and a message of action. His poems also convey the heartbeat and the pain of the times. The playfulness of his expression and the rarity of his ideas create freshness in his poetry. While fully respecting traditional style he has also adopted modern trends in his poetry in view of the demands of the time.</p><p>/</p><p>حسرت سہروردی نے تمل ادب کو اردو دنیا سے متعارف کروانے میں منفرد رول ادا کیا ہے۔ وہ بڑی حد تک ترقی پسند تحریک سے متاثر ہیں۔ ان کے ہاں خیال انگیزی بھی ہے اور پیغامِ عمل بھی۔ ان کے اشعار میں دل کی دھڑکنیں بھی سنائی دیتی ہیں اور زمانے کا درد بھی کروٹیں لیتا نظر آتا ہے۔ بیان کی شوخی اور خیال کی ندرت ان کے کلام میں تازگی پیدا کرتی ہے۔ انہوں نے روایت کا بھرپور احترام کرتے ہوئے وقت کے تقاضوں کے پیش نظر اپنی شاعری میں جدید رجحانات کو بھی اپنایا ہے۔</p>
