Boologaviyasan

Pulokaviyaasan has an important place in Dalit history. It belongs to the canon of Tamil magazines along with Ayothidasar''s Thamizan and Rettaimalaiseenivasan''s Paraiyan. Poonjolaimuthuveeranaavalar was a social activist and mentor of Dalit pioneers M C Raja and Swami Sagajanandar. Under his stewardship Pulokaviyaasan reflects the voices of various dalit groups of that time that are illustrious and contradicting each other. Not a single copy of Pulokaviyaasan which was published from 1903 - 1917 was available for a long time. Finding the 1909 yearly collection J. Balasubramanian who has written a comprehensive history of Tamil Dalit magazines has published this book.s
