Bordeaux is just forty kilometers away from the sea. The bay of Arcachon with its famous oysters is not far away. And there you can also find the Dune of Pyla (Dune de Pyla) which is a rare formation that gives place to the biggest sand dune in Europe. Bordeaux is a nice old medieval city crossed by the river Garonne and full of churches and quiet terraces to spend the evening drinking a nice wine.
