Born Under a Bad Sign

Hey you say I can hear something moving in here! You decide to investigate.. The floor is hard and cold beneath your feet as you walk along the passage. The light from the oil lamps that hang on the walls illuminates only a short distance ahead of you. Above it is pitch black. Ahead of you the passageway opens out into an empty room.There are no exits in this room except for the one leading back to the hallway just outside. There are doors on either side of the room; two closed and two open. A large table stands against a wall at the center of the room surrounded by chairs.You take off the lamp on your belt and hold it high above your head to shed more light over the area around you. Looking through the open doorways you see nothing but darkness beyond. It must be nearly midnight now and the blackness inside these rooms seems endless.A loud clattering fills the air as you begin to move toward the right-hand door. As you reach for the handle however it swings open with a thud that echoes throughout the room..
