Box and Cox is a one-act farce by John Maddison Morton that revolves around a humorous situation of mistaken identity and clever deception. The plot centers on two men Box and Cox who unknowingly share the same room in a boarding house each thinking they are the sole occupant. Due to financial constraints the landlord rents the room to both men at different times of the day leading to a series of comic misunderstandings when they both arrive home at the same time. The farce builds on the premise of the two men being completely unaware of each other’s existence each coming and going at different hours. However when the truth is eventually revealed chaos and confusion ensue as they realize they have been duped into sharing the same living space under false pretenses.
