The first Handbook of the Boy Scouts of America provides an entertaining read and a fascinating insight into the world of a century ago when a boy could obtain badges in subjects such as Inventing (Invent and Patent some useful article) and Taxidermy (Preserve and mount the skin of a game bird or animal).
