Bridging Community Health & Technology

About The Book

CHWs are increasingly being recognized and given greater attention as a result of the positive impact it has demonstrated in closing the health workforce gap in under-served communities. Digital technology is also widely used in the health domain in the implementation of activities. However CHW face several challenges including access to computers and mobile phone technology and being able to effectively use these tools to serve a larger population with quality community health services. This work is focused on the reasons of low use of Computers and mobile phone technologies by CHW in the implementation of Community health activities. In a quantitative approach it reveals that CHW only have access to mobile phone technology with very little training received in its proper use. Almost all of them the CHW encountered had a cell phone but were not able to fully utilize them to ease their work in the community. A positive relationship between access to mobile phone technology and its use in the implementation of community Health worker activities was noticed.
